RV AC Repair

An Rv air conditioner is designed to suck in warm air and then a condenser takes that warm air pushes it out of the RV. Hot air then travels over the ACs chilled coils to quickly cool the coils. Then a fan system pushed the cold air through the vent system of the RV. Most ACs require a lot of power and when the air conditioner is not working your camping trip can go south quickly. RV Furnace Not Working?

If the furnace for your rv isn't working, there could be a number of different possibilities as to the reason why. When you have a tech come and look at the problem we will be troubleshooting the furnace or hydronic heat. For RV's with a propane furnace we will be looking at the thermostat, control board, relay, blower motor, sail switch, high level switch, ignitor and possibly the ductwork. For the system to work correctly we want the thermostat higher than the RV's current inside air temperature. Thus triggering the furnace to activate the blower motor. If the system is functioning correctly the propane ignites which creates hot air that is then distributed throughout your RV.

RV Hydronic Heating System

Hydronic heating systems are used to provide heated floors and to heat the living space. It does this by using baseboard heaters or radiators. How they work is by heating a liquid and then distributing that through tubes which radiates heat throughout the area. With a hydronic heating system you can replace both the RV water heater and propane furnace. We are capable of looking over your hydronic system and providing replacement and or repairs.

  • How do I keep my RV water lines from freezing?

    - Open cabinet doors

    Opening your cabinet allows heat in and prevents pipes in the cabinet or behind the wall from freezing

    - Use heat tapes

    Covering your pipes with heat tapes helps protect your pipes from freezing. Heat tapes are connected to an electric source; thus, they help keep your water lines warm.

    - Use heat bays

    If your camper is not a four-season motorhome, you can place a space heater in your bay to prevent your storage bay from reaching freezing point and causing your water lines to break. You can also use pipe insulation along with heat tape as an extra layer of protection.

    - Move to a warmer location

    Your travel trailer is mobile; as such, it is easy to move to a warmer location to avoid freezing pipes.

    - Skirt it

    Skirting refers to placing a barrier around your mobile home to prevent cold air from blowing under. It is an excellent way to prevent freezing pipelines, especially if you plan to remain in a location during the winter. You can fabricate or purchase a custom-made one for your vehicle.

    - Turn up the heat

    When you increase the heat inside your vehicle, it will radiate to the floor and keep water pipes defrosted.

  • How does an RV propane furnace work?

    The furnace is the rigs main heat source. A propane furnace uses both propane and electricity to generate heat. The propane is what creates hot air and the electricity powers everything and distributes it throughout the RV.
